I'm looking for an explanation on what all the calculated fields are and some examples of their use.
Ideally I am looking to have a text outcome depending on a numerical value. For example if the number is negative state yes and if positive state no
Hi Duncan!
Super simple.. :)
When you create your calculated field in your live connect or scheduled import, using the calculated field UI:
- Give your Field a name/label
- Drag the "Compare Numbers" operator into the Forumula box
- Drag the custom value operator into the correct places
- Add your values and text labels
- Set your More than/less than
Then save your field.
Just note, the calculated field is just done at row level, it doesn't then aggregate up. But you can use slicers and dimensions on tables to then count the number of yes or number of no etc.
Hope that helps!
(Please excuse my annotations :D)
